Thumb and Description for Image 1:
A small gallery showing my flaplever.
Its made from a block of wood, covered in a lot of wood glue for a smooth finish, and two pieces of aluminum tubing.
The alu tubes are different diameters so that the smaller slides inside the bigger one. The one with the wood attached is the inner part.
The inner part has one hole for the screw that goes into the notches, and a long cut that limits up/down movement later on.
The outer part has a big hole (6mm) and a small hole (the one with the pencil mark). The other small hole was the setting for the old notches.

Thumb and Description for Image 2:
Springloading the lever using an elastic band. Using the piece of threaded rod, I pushed the elastic band up alu pipe until i can push the brass screw through the loop...

Thumb and Description for Image 3:
...then put the outer alu piece on the inner, I pull one end of the rubber band until I can temporarily hold it with the screwdriver as shown. Of course, before I even pushed up the band to the brass screw, I attached the wires seen here so I had something to pull on :)
Now I only had to get the second screw (the one that limits the movement) through the rubber band loop...

Thumb and Description for Image 4:
...then I could remove the wires and the flap lever was finished. (Except for some paint on the 'knob' part)
