I have added a ICSP (In Circuit Serial Programming) connector to my picprogrammer since I'll be programming some other PICs apart from the 16F628
for example a 12F675
This was the first time I programmed and used a 12F675 (8pin DIP package,internal 4MHz oscillator, 4 channel Analog-Digital-Converter). I nearly destroyed the only 12F675 that I have by applying power the wrong way (reversed) in my test circuit.
all thats needed are 5 wires: GND,+5V, Vpp, programming clock and data.
